THANKS TO OUR MEMBERS
2024 is over and we on the board want to wish you a good continuation in the new year 2025. We also want to thank you for your support as a member of the Fårö Future Association. Together we protect the island's natural and cultural values, now and for future generations. We support the industries within visits, trade, construction, crafts and agriculture.
We continue to push the Swedish Transport Administration and Region Gotland about the need for cycle lanes on the island. The ferry traffic between Fårösund and Broa is of course a central issue that we, together with other associations, have long had views on. The lunch break at 12.30 has now been postponed, while the breakfast break at 9.00 remains. We believe that this should be scrapped and that the pre-trip should be extended.
Furthermore, we acted quickly when it emerged that the Fårö bus would no longer operate the route from Ekekorset to Skär. We continue to monitor this issue but of course would prefer to see that there were public transport connections all year round on Fårö.
Other tasks that we have been able to carry out thanks to your members include:
- Beach cleaning during the summer of Sudersand, Ekeviken and Bohaka in collaboration with Sudersand Resort and other companies and associations.
- Our nature and reserve caretakers check and keep the reserves and beach protection areas as well as the toilets clean.
- We publish the Fårö & Fårösund guide with editorial content and advertisements.
- We organize the Fårönatta festival, the third weekend in September.
