THANK YOU FOR BEING A MEMBER

2022 is now over and we on the board want to thank you for your support as a member of Fårö future. Together we protect the island's natural and cultural values, now and for future generations. We support the industries within visits, trade, construction, crafts and agriculture.

We continue to push the Swedish Transport Administration and Region Gotland about the need for cycle lanes on the island. The ferry traffic between Fårösund and Broa is of course a central issue for permanent residents, part-time residents, commercial traffic and the hospitality industry. Abolition of the breakfast break at 9.00 a.m. and an extended first ride are some of the demands that we have brought forward.

Other issues we on the board were able to carry out during the year, thanks to you members, include: 

• Beach cleaning during the summer of Sudersand, Ekeviken and Bohaka in collaboration with Sudersand Resort and other companies and associations.
• Our nature and reserve managers check and keep the reserves and beach protection areas clean.  
• That there should be more parking spaces for mobile homes and clearer parking signage regarding prohibited overnight parking and camping. 
• We produce the free Fårö & Fårösund guide with useful information and content-rich articles. 
• We organize Fårönatta, the third Saturday in September, this year on September 16.

A warm welcome to the annual meeting on April 10 (Easter Monday) at 10 a.m. in Bygdegården. From the Fårö Future Association, we wish you a healthy and content-rich 2023. Our hope is of course an end to Russia's war against Ukraine.
