The story of Bodri
by Stina Wirsén
Hédi and Marika are friends. They each have a dog and they play with each other every day. They are inseparable with one thing separating them. Hédi is Jewish and Marika is Christian. When the war comes, Hédi is suddenly not allowed to play with Marika anymore. She is not even allowed to go out with her beloved dog Bodri. Instead, she ends up in a camp where she struggles to survive. What keeps her up is when she thinks about Bodri. And Bodri, in turn, faithfully waits for Hédi.
Stina Wirsén's book based on Hédi Fried's story has become a film.
