Recycling containers for plastic can be found at Region Gotland's recycling station, 1.5 km from the ferry stop (See sign Kutamora).
Some examples of plastic packaging are plastic carrier bags, plastic bags, plastic tubes, refill packs, plastic foil and film, inner bags in, for example, muesli packs, bottles, cans, small cans and buckets (jam, yogurt), chip bags and styrofoam, also trays for meat and fish.
If there is a collection of plastic packaging at or in your property, you can leave them there. Many of the municipalities' manned recycling centers also have collection containers for recycling packaging.
Remove corks and lids. Empty your bag of plastic packaging into the container so that they are loose, to facilitate recycling.
- Plastic deposit bottles left against pledge at ICA Nyströms on Oak.
- Storage boxes for example, CDs, video cassettes, board games and plastic pots must be put in residual waste. See Fårösund's recycling centre.
Things that are not packaging - sleds, laundry baskets, furniture and more - are left as plastic if your recycling center has that fraction, otherwise as general waste. Check with the staff at your recycling centre.
Keep in mind that if the packaging has residues of glue, paint, solvents or the like, it must be left as hazardous waste. The same applies to plastic electrical items.
If the can or bottle is marked with one of the three symbols above, it must be left as hazardous waste Fårösund's recycling center. It should therefore not be left at recycling stations for packaging.
