Newspaper recycling

Recycling containers for newspapers can be found at Region Gotland's recycling station, 1.5 km from the ferry stop (See sign Kutamora).

Put daily and weekly newspapers, magazines, catalogs (mail order, telephone and travel catalogues), advertising leaflets, brochures, office paper, writing and drawing paper and paperbacks into recycling bins for newspapers and waste paper. Everything can be recycled.

Remove plastic wrap around newspapers and advertisements and leave these as plastic packaging. The wrapping paper around printer paper is left as paper packaging.

Staples, spirals and the like do not need to be removed from newspapers or pads. They are separated with magnets and sent to metal recycling.

If there is collection for newspapers at or in your property, you can leave them there. Many of the municipalities' staffed recycling centers also have collection containers for recycling packaging and newspapers.

Paper that should not be placed in containers for newspapers are, for example, envelopes and bound books, which should instead be thrown away as residual waste. Milk cartons, wrapping paper and the like are placed in the container for paper packaging.
